I have the honour to report that from 31st. December,

1914, to 31st. March, 1915, the subscriptions to the Prince of

Wales' Fund amounted to $70,672.52 - made of donations 854,169.05

and monthly subscriptions 816,503.47.

The total amount subscribed to 31st. March is 8271,019.

12 of which #235,213.66 is donations and £36,805.26 is monthly

subscriptions. Donations from the Chinese Community received throug

the Hon. Mr. Lau Chu Pak amount to $65,366.57. Of this amount

$63,820.67 was subscribed up to 31st. December and the balance

$1,545.90 from that date to 31st. March.

As mentioned in my letter of 14th. January an amount of

£17,000 was remitted to London on 22nd. December, costing @

1/9.5/16, 8191,436.95. A further amount of £7,000 was remitted on

29th. March; the cost of this was 876,737.66 being £6,000 @ 1/9%

and £1,000 © 1/10, the latter mount was a subscription from the

Hongkong Jockey Club, the exchange ferwhich was fixed at the time

the donation was made. The balance in hand on 31st. March was

82,844.51.
